Angela Begres, LMSW

Angela Begres (She/Her), LMSW is a bilingual (Spanish-English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker who did her training at the University of Chicago. She has worked in  a grief center, community mental health, and outpatient clinic settings. She has provided counseling services with an emphasis on underserved and minority communities. She has served as the education manager within the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI), where her primary responsibility was to manage all mental health education programs and peer support groups for suburban Chicago. 

 

She is a certified Mental Health First Aid Trainer and travels nationally providing Mental Health First Aid certification training and instruction for future trainers, and is a strong advocate for stigma reduction of mental health and substance use disorders. Angela has experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families. Angela especially loves helping improve the parent-child relationship. She also has training in trauma, grief and loss.  

 

She works through a holistic lens that emphasizes the inseparable connection between our physical and mental health, and the environment. Her approach to therapy is client-centered and centered in cultural humility and multicultural counseling.

Angela currently only provides supervision and is not accepting new clients.
