Shelby C. Kittleson, LLMSW (she/her) is a Social Worker and Mental Health Therapist with Timber Creek Counseling. Shelby is an inducted member of Alpha Sigma Nu - an academic honorary celebrating scholarship, loyalty, and public service. Before she decided to pursue a career in psychotherapy, Shelby worked in comedy - rising in the administrative ranks at the famed Second City theater in Chicago. Shelby believes that working in the arts cultivated her compassion, creativity, collaborative spirit, and ability to improvise.
Shelby's clinical style is informed by the work of Dr. Richard Schwartz (Internal Family Systems) and Dr. Marsha Linehan (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), though she takes a holistic, mindful, and integrative approach as is required by each unique client. She primarily works with older adolescents, adults, and couples. Shelby is LGBTQIA+ affirming, trauma-informed, and an advocate for anti-racism.
