Dr. Andrew Cuthbert
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Building a great relationship doesn't happen by accident—it takes real intentionality, the right tools, and a mutual willingness to understand each other. As the Clinical Director at Timber Creek Counseling, Dr. Andrew Cuthbert (He/Him) spends his time helping couples repair, strengthen, and breathe new life into their partnerships. He has spent nearly a decade specializing in relationship dynamics, and he regularly writes, speaks, and trains other therapists in couples counseling.
Andrew earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College. He later completed advanced training at the University of Michigan’s Mary A. Rackham Institute, where he focused specifically on complex marriage, couples, and family issues. Over his career, he has worked across a wide range of settings—from community mental health clinics and university counseling centers to intensive hospital programs and legal centers providing wrap-around care. This diverse background gives him a deep, stable foundation for helping people navigate even the most challenging life transitions.
In his sessions, he pulls from the most respected, research-backed methods in the field, including the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Whether you are trying to break through years of communication gridlock, heal from a breach of trust, or simply want to deepen your intimacy, Andrew provides a practical, warm, and structured roadmap to help you find your way back to connection.
