MELISSA CUTHBERT, BS, MAT
Executive Director // Co-Founder
Melissa Cuthbert (She/Her) is the Executive Director for Timber Creek Counseling. She is Timber Creek's principal consultant/coach. She works with organizations and individuals in strategic goal setting, fulfilling vision, and finding balance in transitions. Her specialties include helping others get unstuck when feeling stagnant, assessing and developing career goals, and helping individuals find balance and clarity. She also leads TCC's organizational processes, strategies, finance, and operations.
Melissa has led teams for the past decade and has focused much of her career on operations, finance, and staff coaching for mid-size organizations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Marian University.
DR. ANDREW CUTHBERT, PSYD
Clinical Director // Co-Founder // Licensed Psychologist
Andrew Cuthbert (He/Him) received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College. He previously worked at the University of Michigan Mary A Rackham Institute, where he received specialized training for couple's and family issues. He has experience in both counseling and assessment in a community mental health setting, a legal center providing wrap-around care, intensive and partial-hospitalization programs, and college counseling centers. He works with children, families, emerging adults, and older adults, and is also a certified PREPARE-ENRICH facilitator.
LYNNE SPENCER, MA, LLP, RN
Limited License Psychologist
Lynne Spencer (She/Her) is an experienced Masters Level Psychologist. She is a registered nurse, specializing in Psychiatric/Behavioral Nursing, since 1983.
Lynne graduated from the Michigan School of Psychology (formerly the Center for Humanistic Studies) in 2000 with a Master’s in Clinical and Humanistic Psychology. She has worked in hospital, outpatient clinic, residential, community mental health and home care settings.
Lynne’s special areas of interest include donor conception, adoption, depression, trauma, grief and loss, Mind-Body-Spirit integration, and the LGBTQ population. She works with adolescents and adults through all life stages.
Lynne believes it is important for everyone to have their life story heard, understood and honored. She enjoys helping people grow through facing up to their life challenges and gaining more life satisfaction and purpose.
ANGELA BEGRES, LMSW
Licensed Master Social Worker
Angela Begres (She/Her), LMSW is a bilingual (Spanish-English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker who did her training at the University of Chicago. She has worked in a grief center, community mental health, and outpatient clinic settings. She has provided counseling services with an emphasis on underserved and minority communities. She has served as the education manager within the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI), where her primary responsibility was to manage all mental health education programs and peer support groups for suburban Chicago.
She is a certified Mental Health First Aid Trainer and travels nationally providing Mental Health First Aid certification training and instruction for future trainers, and is a strong advocate for stigma reduction of mental health and substance use disorders. Angela has experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults and families. Angela especially loves helping improve the parent-child relationship. She also has training in trauma, grief and loss.
She works through a holistic lens that emphasizes the inseparable connection between our physical and mental health, and the environment. Her approach to therapy is client-centered and centered in cultural humility and multicultural counseling.
