Sydney Friend
Licensed Professional Counselor
Sydney Friend (She/Her) LPC, received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University along with a Bachelor's of Psychology from Michigan State University. Sydney has previous experience working with children with autism, Community Mental Health, and adults and children at an inpatient facility. Sydney completed her internship at Timber Creek Counseling where she provided outpatient counseling services to children, adults, and couples. Sydney's areas of interest are: anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, phobias, and OCD.
Sydney’s approach uses an integrative theoretical orientation with a focus on cognitive-behavioral theory and person-centered. She believes people are unique and not one approach is universal. She also believes that our thoughts cause our feelings, and we can change the way we feel/think even if the situation does not change. Her goal is for clients to strive in all human experiences.
